Our History
The Martinez Family roots go back to a small village named Ocampo in the mountains of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Tino Martinez our founder has always been a hard worker. At the age of 7, Tino had to quit school to go to work and help his parents support his younger brothers and sisters. When he migrated to the United States in search of a better life and the “American Dream” he found work as a short order cook at an old restaurant in town named the Golden OX café. For more than 28 years Tino made and served the best homemade food in Mesquite. However the Golden Ox was not Tino’s and when it changed owners in 1988, Tino found himself without a job. With his new found faith in the Lord and the support of his wife Maria and children it quickly became his dream to own and run his own restaurant. His restaurants would be ran on Christian principals a place where people could come and enjoy good food in a good family environment, and where our employees would have Sunday’s off to worship or spend time with their family. On November 15 th , 1989 Martinez Restaurant opened its door for the very first time at 810 W Kearney Mesquite, TX 75149 with a desire to serve our local community with the best, fresh homemade, Tex-Mex food. It is because of these standards that we run our restaurants on that we have been able to serve first second, and even third generations of our patrons. Since then the Martinez Restaurant family has grown. We are now serving in three different locations with the same standards. Please visit us and let us serve you the best Mexican Food.
